Editorial Board meetings

One of the essential roles for this magazine is of course the role of the Editorial Board. Apart from its traditional role as the regulatory and quality assurance body, which defines the content and the structure of the journal, within this project it will be assigned with several additional responsibilities.

As the SEE LJ is planned to undergo a phase of structural redefinition, two Editorial Board meetings are envisaged.

One of the meetings will be focused on the revision of the existing editorial policy and proposing solutions for improvement of the same where needed. In addition the criteria of the selection of the peer reviewers, their specific tasks and scope of work and recruitment will be also reviewed and improved. Additionally the overall speeding up of the process of the production of the SEE LJ and the structure and content of the new web page will be discussed and decided upon. Aspects related to the explicit opening of the journal for contributions from legal practitioners and policy makers will be also discussed and structured within the new editorial policy, as this is the aspect which was not present in the previous edition of the SEE LJ.

The second meeting will be aimed towards the assessment the editorial policy of the journal and the functionality of the website, and to making the necessary adjustments based on the experience and the needs of the analyses. In addition to this the Editorial Board will be tasked to evaluate the success of the promotion and outreach activities of the journal. Based on all of this, summarizing the experiences, the gathered knowledge and information, the Editorial Board will create the Sustainability Plan which will ensure continuation of the publication of the SEE Law Journal and functionality of the website in a sustainable manner.

The joint task of the editorial board members of defining the sustainability plan will serve as the basis for identification of the necessary steps to be undertaken in order to ensure production of content and successful outreach in the academic community, the legal professions, the policy makers and the civil society organisations in the SEE region and in the EU.
